Dane and Jason met in 1997, and it was love at first sight (Jason owned a Boston, and Dane fell in love with her)!

That really was the start of DANSON. That first Boston, a rescue, had all the personality traits one looks for in a Boston. Though not a "show" Boston, she was lovely and loving, and the center of attention. Spoiled beyond all possible belief. Dane had shown larger breeds (Siberians and Boxers), but while trying to manage his naval career while owning/handling dogs, found the two to be incompatible, but maintained he would like to try again once he put his uniform away for good. That happened in 2001, after 23 years, 6 months, and 23 days serving his country. Jason owned his own grooming shop, so the progression to the show ring was a natural. In February 2003, Dane and Jason were presented with an opportunity to purchase a show quality Boston (after looking for nearly 2 years) from DiAmore Kennels in Chicago. That was it - they were hooked. She went on to become Ch DiAmore's La Dolce Stella (Stella). They continued to watch and learn, joined the BTCA and Western Boston Terrier Club, and eventually purchased another beautiful bitch from Lyn-d-Ann Bostons in Tennessee. She is now Ch Lyn-d-Ann's Whatever She Wants (Lola).

Danson wishes to thank their mentor, Cindy Pagurski of DiAmore. She started the guys out on the right foot, stressing the importance of keeping the breed healthy while breeding to the standard. She also taught them (and continues to teach them) the importance of being a responsible breeder.

Danson also wishes to thank other breeders and exhibitors, such as Dot Leverett, Maureen Blackwood, Sharon Saberton, Suzanne Shiloh, Ola Jeanne McCullough, Peggy Jackson (and many others) for providing much needed guidance and advice.
